If anyone were to pick the most influencial invention of the 20th Century, it would have to be our old and trusted friend, the television set.
Commercial television has been with us for over fifty years now and has had the largest single influence on our popular culture more than any other medium. We have become a nation of TV addicts and we're proud of it! Everything that influenced our popular culture before the use of TV eventually ended up on the boob tube. Popular music, radio shows, live theatre, comic strips and books, and lots and lots of advertising made the transition to TV without missing a beat.
